Strangely, yet so typical of human memory, we sometimes incorrectly ‘remember’ events and agency history. Our mind can transpose dates, events and even people, in our collective memory. I thought you were here when that happened!”, while the colleague corrects, “No – I was hired the next year.” Before entering into a strategic planning exercise, or as part of the first phase of it, working through the most important past events, and getting everybody in alignment, is of great value.
