Bio: Gisele Guenard

Accomplishments - Education - Current Board Membership Gisele is known for her drive and team building skills during start-up, implementation, and in her board service. Her work with VisionarEase has helped a wide variety of organizations find solutions to challenges, and move forward with key strategies, aligned and energized. Within the hospital, college, long-term care and primary care sectors, her successes include leading the Occupancy Planning and opening of a new long-term care facility, construction of a patient-friendly integrated primary care clinic, as well as the planning and implementation of one of Canada's first Family Health Teams. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Canada's first nurse practitioner-led primary care clinic. Fluent in French and in English, she was educated in Ontario and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science (Nursing) from Laurentian University, as well as a Master of Education (Sociology) Degree from the University of Toronto.

Paying it Forward She and her company, VisionarEase Inc., are strong supporters of local community agencies, and global positive change initiatives, including Women for Women International. Member of a talented musical family, Gisele is a vocalist, performing classic rock, folk and popular music for special events and fund-raising groups. She encourages all her clients to include a food drive for local community food banks, with any event for which VisionarEase is providing services. "It's simple. We are grouping up anyway: people want to give, and the need is great," she says.

Awards & personal Values Recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, nominated for the Influential Women of Northern Ontario Award, and recognized by the MOHLTC for her work as Vice Chair of the North East Local Health Integration network, Gisele is a strong proponent of the need for partners to change the way they think, roll up their sleeves, work together and seek positive solutions to the challenges at hand. She shares, "I have been fortunate to serve with great leaders throughout my career… leaders who knew how to think differently, and follow that up with words and actions. It is only through their role modeling and the leadership skills they helped me practice, that I am able to provide the service I am entrusted with now."

Words in Action An inspiring keynote speaker, audiences love her provocative yet caring humourous style at the podium. She is an energetic facilitator, providing team building, executive and planning support for business, women's groups, child care, environmental, health care agencies, and many more. She has presented to a Royal Commission, at Queens's Park and at events hosted by various government Ministries, as well as provincial and municipal associations. As member of the Small Rural Northern Leadership Council of the Ontario Hospital Association, she helped lead the implementation of Learning Organization strategy in the public health sector. She has written textbooks at the college level, and self help books for an international audience. Her latest book is HELP ! Healthy Thinking in Times of Trouble.
